Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from beginners and small business owners about Google Ads and the course.

There is no minimum spend. You set a daily budget and usually pay only when someone clicks your ad. The cost per click depends on your industry, location and competition. On some days Google may spend up to twice your daily budget, but over a month it will not charge more than about 30.4 times your average daily budget.

Start with an amount you can run for at least a month without stopping. The budget needs to buy enough clicks to get some conversions, otherwise there is no data to learn from. It is better to run one focused campaign well than several small ones.

Common reasons are a disapproved ad, a billing issue, a budget or bid that is too low, keywords with very little search volume, or location settings that exclude your audience. Searching for your own ad again and again can also stop it showing to you. Use the Ad Preview and Diagnosis tool instead.

Usually the ads are matching the wrong searches, the landing page does not match what the ad promised, or conversion tracking is not set up correctly. Checking the search terms report and testing your tracking are the first steps.

A new campaign needs time to collect data. Smart bidding strategies go through a learning period, and it usually takes a few weeks of steady running before you can judge results fairly.

Quality Score is a 1 to 10 rating of your keywords based on expected click through rate, ad relevance and landing page experience. A higher score can lower your costs, but it is a diagnostic signal, not a goal on its own.

It can be, because you reach people who are already searching for what you offer. It works best when you track conversions, target the right searches and have a landing page that turns visitors into enquiries.
